sunday a.m.
Jon returned to work this week after having several weeks off with his broken wrist. He is still in a cast, so i cant imagine how he is welding. If anyone wondered, yes - his cast is starting to stink.
Thursday kate and I skied solitude. It was a beautiful day. New snow, but kind of a quiet vibe at the resort. There was a slide in honeycomb canyon the day before and someone was killed. Honeycomb is the canyon where Kimmy got caught in a slide last christmas. The slide on thursday was further down the canyon. We are so so lucky Kimmy popped out and didn't get pushed in the trees. I just cant believe it. Attached pics are from 'kimmy's slide'. A very sobering moment for us, again.
Kate sprained her calf muscle in the trees off of Summit and limped off the mountain. I think she hurts cause her muscles are too big. I hear Lance Armstrong gets pain in his muscles because they are too big. Jon just thinks she needs new boots.
Jesse is full of business and is making plans for a dirt bike / whitewater trip to Moab March 26. That is the week before Easter. We just started talking about where to stay, renting jeeps, river permits, etc. I have no idea what work schedules and other limitations any of us have yet, but I'm sure we can figure out. Everyone is invited!
Kate went salsa dancing with Maren Janzen. Wish I had a pic of that to post.
Jake, Jon, and friends spent Friday night at a condo in Eden. Skied under the wolf moon. Have not heard their report yet, but Jake did call me last night wondering where the shooting star bar and restaurant was. I could hear laughing in the background, sounded like they were all in good spirits. Because there are only two roads in town, I had a suspicion pretty quick. "Jake - what side of the lake are you on? are you on the east side?" Dead / dumb silence. "uhh... awwhhhh.....is it on the east side?" ... That lake is so confusing.
I'm glad Jake keeps in touch with Erin, cause I can text her to see if she's heard from them. The boys did make it home last night. Late night snacks left out in the kitchen. Sliding door was left open a bit. Chase is sleeping in the spare bed. It may be a girls only day on the mtn.
